Phyllis Reed

Board Member

Phyllis Reed is the director of the Health Education Services Office in the Colorado Department of Education. She has assisted school districts in the development of curriculum and assessments and implementation of the Comprehensive Health and Physical Education Standards. Phyllis supervises a team of grant program managers and evaluators and oversees various state and federal grants that provide funding for Colorado schools. These grants provide support in the areas of Behavioral Health, Comprehensive Health Education and Physical Education. Prior to her work at CDE, Phyllis was a teacher, coach, athletic coordinator, and assistant principal in Texas public high schools. She has a goal for educators to have the resources and tools needed to provide instruction and support for the physical, emotional, and social wellness of all students.
